Lightness

At 800 grams lighter than the Photon, the new Lyght is the highest performing lightweight sail in the Sport class (EN C).

Designed for pilots who appreciate the gains in inflation, agility and steering precision due to the reduced inertia of lightweight wings, the Lyght is a solid wing made to accompany you on your greatest mountain adventures. The weight reduction makes a noticeable difference in terms of steering. The complex internal architecture that has allowed such a weight saving comes from the Zeolite GT project. The ultra-light structure does not sacrifice any strength or rigidity while offering better steering and reduced weight.

As with the Photon, the stability of the profile and the cohesion of the sail along the span and chord give the Lyght strength and compactness throughout the speed range. The development has achieved a remarkable level of passive safety and ease of use. The performance of the wing is immediately noticeable – we have never flown an EN C with such a glide. It is a true 2-line, the pilot can directly control the angle of attack at all flight regimes even more easily thanks to the new height-adjustable handles on the Bs developed specifically for the Lyght.

Performance

The many technologies developed for the Enzo and our other high performance wings are incorporated into the design of the Lyght, giving it a finesse and speed that places it at the top of its class. The reduced weight of the structure improves inflation and handling, while the moderate aspect ratio and good cohesion of the wing make it less demanding and more comfortable in turbulent air. As for speed, it is the fastest EN C we have made, with a speed very close to that of the Zeno2. Just as important, the wing remains solid and comfortable at high speeds and the winglets stabilise the roll, which increases efficiency in accelerated flight.

Passive Security

The numerous collapse behavior tests carried out by the Ozone R&D team have demonstrated that the wing easily fits into the Sport class specifications, with asymmetrical and frontal collapse behaviors similar to those of the Delta 4.

The Pilot

The Lyght is ideal for experienced pilots looking for a lightweight, high-performance wing who have previously flown EN C category wings and have recently completed a SIV course.
